Powered by hard work and optimism, White Oak Display & Design operates much like the Little Engine That Could.
We’ve engineered our company to solve your retail display problems. We get your needs on track and create compelling merchandising destinations that carry your brand over the top.
Founded by Jim Boyd in 1979, the business passed to Jim’s son Scott, and again to four families long involved with the company’s leadership. White Oak’s ownership families proudly reflect a female majority of shareholders whose unending support further demonstrates our commitment to excellence.
An “out of business” sign met Jim Boyd one morning when he arrived at the display manufacturer where he worked in eastern Pennsylvania in the mid-1970s.
Jim had been in the middle of a display project for Armstrong World Industries. Hardworking and conscientious, he appealed to Armstrong to finish the job on his own. They agreed, and Jim went home to set up shop in his garage.
Impressed by Jim’s great work, the folks at Armstrong passed his name to an air conditioner company, and one satisfied customer led to another. He enlisted his son Scott to help with sales, and in 1979, a merchandising display company was born named for the street where it started in his garage on White Oak Road.
Today, White Oak Display & Design operates out of a 100,000 sq. ft., state-of-the-art facility in central Pennsylvania along with a 40,000 sq. ft. warehouse and distribution center. Our team delivers exceptional service to over 100 clients—including Armstrong and Exide Batteries who have been with White Oak from day one.
While Jim passed away in 2015, the business he built with honest, hardworking values lives on. Ownership passed to his son Scott, and again to four families long involved with the company’s leadership. White Oak’s current owners proudly reflect a female majority of shareholders.
Whether you’re a small, local business or a big, national company, in need of a handcrafted display or an end-to-end, integrated merchandising system, all roads lead to White Oak.
